| The other animals at Trotters World of Animals are a bit startled by Charlie’s unusual appearance. But in reality Charlie couldn’t be more kindly. So when he sees a surprised look on visitor’s faces he just laughs. Charlie has vivid blue red and purple on his face…and bottom!! By nature, like other mandrills Charlie is actually peaceful and social. Charlie's young wife gave birth to a baby on Christmas Eve 2005. Proud father, 55lb Charlie however was worried… He struggled to think of a name for his young son, so our local television company ran a competition to name the baby. The name Mali (after one of the regions where mandrill lives in the wild), was chosen. The family are all doing well… David – large primate keeper |
