Did you know .... |
Fact One
The long neck and often bald head is used for delving deep inside rotting carcasses and allows for easy cleaning after a big meal. |
Fact Two
Vultures will soar for many hours using rising thermals often covering hundreds of miles in search of carrion. |
Fact Three
Vultures are unable to catch or kill live prey as their feet are unable to grip as tightly as an eagle and indeed their talons are often blunt.

Fred is the hen pecked husband to Wilma. I’ve had him since he was a youngster.
We had difficulty getting him to fly and I even went to the lengths of running and flapping my arms, but he’s still a clumsy flier!
He loves his food and he’d eat so much he couldn’t move if he had the chance.
